Johnson Accepts Dropping Fri 15th Sep 2000 11:14 Town striker David Johnson has reacted calmly to the news that he will start Saturday's game at Leeds from the bench. The £1.1 millon signing said: "I was poor last Saturday. I was really disappointed at my performance, so in the back of my mind I thought it might happen. I'm disappointed I have not scored in the opening few games but I'm more than pleased with the way I have handled being in the Premiership and I feel I started in good form but it is that first goal which I need." |

Town manager George Burley said he was unhappy at the timing: "It is not ideal preparation having Jim away for a few days in the week leading up to our first game of the new season." Holland to Spurs Rumour Fri 28th Jan 2000 10:41 Stories in the papers today suggest that George Graham is afer Town captain Matt Holland. The Spurs manager rates the Town star at £3.5 million. Apparently Town have turned down an offer, however if a ludicrous fee was offered Town would have to consider it. Holland himself has said he is very happy at the club and with living in the area. Town were reported to have turned down offers from Bradford and Fulham in the summer. |
